We worried and prayed and worried and prayed about Elder Lott's chipped tooth. It's so hard to wait an entire week for an update. Anxiously we asked how his tooth was and happily he reported he had seen a miracle. In his words: "When I went to bed last Wednesday, my tooth was super rough and hurt every time a took a breath. I prayed that night that this problem with my tooth would not affect my mission. When I woke up the next morning, my tooth was smooth and there was absolutely no pain. I have not had any trouble with it since." Thank you, Father, for sending a miracle!
This week he forgot his first English word. He could not remember how to say "gospel" in English. He could only remember the Spanish equivalent. He said he struggled with it for a good 20 minutes before remember how to say "Preach my Gospel" in English. Spanish must be taking over.
He was able to leave the gated community of the CCM (MTC) and travel to the gated community of the Mexico City Temple. It was about a 40 minute bus ride and they had a fabulous time.
There was a small store near inside the gated community of the temple and he was soooo excited with his purchases! He had on a new tie and another one that was yet to be opened. He also bought a Book of Mormon in Mayan because he thought that might come in handy. We'll see!

He told us the Mexico City Temple was one of only five temples where the Angel Moroni on top was blowing his trumpet in one hand and holding a set of scripture in the other hand. He attempted to capture it in pictures but it is difficult to see.

They had been privileged to hear from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and Elder Dale G. Renlund last week. They watched/listened to them both over separate live broadcasts and he beamed as he shared with us the promised blessings to missionaries. Something like...if you give your heart to the Lord and work hard on your mission, you will stand blameless before the Lord. Wow! He had a renewed dedication to working hard and giving his heart to the Lord.
Elder Lott said they really have some beautiful sunsets in Mexico. He asked if we knew why the sunsets were so beautiful? And the answer was because of all of the pollution. He said they didn't really notice the pollution where they were but they sure enjoyed the sunsets.
We asked him what he missed most from home. Music was his answer. He is learning the Hymns in Spanish but still misses some songs from home.
He said there are 5 rooms in 1 house and typically 4 missionaries to a room so 20 people per house. He didn't know how many houses there were at the CCM but he is in #45. There are usually around 800 missionaries at the CCM but that fluctuates. For example there were 600 missionaries there and then 185 arrived on Tuesday.
Elder Lott was upbeat, positive and happy!
